Who We Are and What We Do
We are…
- Accredited by Family Service Ontario supported by your donations and fees and some government sponsorship
- A community based counselling centre governed by a local board of directors
- Trained to help; we as a team bring over 60 years of clinical experience to our work. Feel free to discuss qualifications with your counsellor
- Separate from the two other services in the Oaks Centre building. Our services are independent and confidential*.
- A voluntary service. You choose your path to wellness in consultation with your counsellor.
- Serving individuals, couples families and groups
We can…
- Help you resolve almost any problem including: addictions, sexual assault, family violence, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, fear, grief, self esteem, etc.
- Advocate with other services on your behalf including Probation Services and Children’s Aid Society.
- Help you improve your quality of life by identifying clear goals and helping you reach them.
- Connect you with other services and supports in your wellness journey.

- To provide interventions based on recognized best practices
- To continually improve our services. If you have a problem or concern, please advise your counsellor of the matter. If the problem is not resolved, you can bring the matter to the Executive Director (848-2585).
- To hold ourselves accountable to the highest administrative practices. This includes maintaining a file of written documents of your service. The file includes a record of the goals you have set, impressions and records of progress, along with all signed consent forms.
